I received a number of suggestions to the itchy Hedy problem. Two mentioned shampoo. I was using an organic, all-natural ingredients, etc. shampoo and never thought to have her tested. Sure enough, when Dr. Jolin did the surrogate muscle test, she was weak. I gave the remainder of the nearly-full bottle to Dr. Jolin’s assistant for her two dogs.
Another person suggested allergies, air-borne pollens being high at this time of year. That doesn’t seem to be it.
What seems to be helping the most is the liver cleanse Dr. Jolin thought would reduce the histaminic reaction. Hedy is scratching much less, and much less furiously now.
Thank you for your input.

May 2, 2011 - 4:36 PMI hope you find the right balance for your eyes. It certainly doesn’t pay to over-due, does it? Patience is difficult, especially when you want to get things done.
I’m glad Hedy’s scratching is better. Give her a hug from me.

May 2, 2011 - 5:25 PMI’m taking the eye sensitivity as a help with the discipline I’ve needed to not work nonstop for so long at a time. It isn’t good for me in any way. I’ve developed powerful sittiing down muscles while everything else has gone to flab. And it’s a good reminder not to take my remaining sight for granted. I’ve gotten away with a lot more than I should have (like not getting speeding tickets all the times you deserved them), so I’m paying attention. In the long run, I’ll keep everything working better in this steadily aging body of mine.
Thanks again for mentioning the shampoo. You were right.
Hedy sends a tail wag thank you.
